What is Tale.ist?

Every author needs a web presence, but due to cost, many are limited to sites like LinkTree. Tale.ist, an Indie Art Creatives LLC product, establishes your web presence without breaking your budget.

What does Tale.ist mean?

It's just a short domain name that makes a play on the non-existent word "taleist", which I'm defining to mean "one who tells tales." Have fun with it!

How long is a membership term?

Basic and Pro memberships are billed for twelve months at a time through PayPal.

Do you support other payment methods?

Not at this time. Sorry for any inconvenience. You do not have to have a PayPal account, though, as credit cards are accepted through PayPal.

Are monthly payments accepted?

Because the cost is so low, we do not accept monthly payments.

Can I use my own domain?

Custom domain support is included with Pro. Domains are not provided as part of any plan. To purchase a domain, search the web or try GoDaddy.

What kind of files can I host on Tale.ist?

Tale.ist provides a website, so the only files you'll need to host are images (jpg, gif, png, webp). No support is provided for other file types, but you can host them elsewhere and link to them on your Tale.ist website.

Why are my Contact page emails not arriving?

Please check your SPAM folder and whitelist sylas@tale.ist.

What is included with the plans?

Please see Plans.

Do you offer discounts?

Our pricing is already at the minimum we can offer, so you will not find discounts throughout the year.

Is there a free trial?

We do not offer free trials at this time.

What happens if my membership ends?

Your public page is hidden, but your account and content are preserved so you can sign in and subscribe again.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Cancellation stops renewal at the end of the paid term. The current term remains available and is not refunded. To cancel, go to your Membership tab in your tale.ist account.

​Can I upgrade/downgrade?

Yes. On the Membership tab in your tale.ist account, you can upgrade and downgrade. Downgrades will take effect at for your next billing.

How do I get a refund?

There are no refunds for unused account features or early cancellation.

How can I get support?

Please email sylas@tale.ist and allow up to 2 business days for a response (often it's much faster!) Sending multiple emails will put you at the back of the queue.

Will you add my feature?

Please email feature requests to sylas@tale.ist. Keep in mind that Tale.ist is not Wix and is not intended to provide a bookstore; it is a place for you to feature your publications. My goal is to keep it simple and the scope limited. This keeps costs down.

Why is my custom HTML or CSS filtered?

For security, only some tags and CSS are allowed. Javascript may not be included in your page source. If you need to use a tag or style which you know is safe, please email sylas@tale.ist. Please allow up to 2 business days for a response (often it's much faster!)
